We made it to Florence...with a hiccup or two, but we are here in another lovely apt.
We had first class tickets for the fast train. In order to get to the train station, we needed to take a bus. No problem. When we scanned the ticket to go through the gate, the guy said we couldn't go...the tickets were for Oct 17, next week! Paul and Gordon ran back to get tickets...not first class...We were able to get on the same train tho. Oy!
It was a beautiful ride into the hills of Tuscany. Fields of sheep,  groves of olive trees, vinyards, etc... Nice, huh?
We walked from the train station to our newest apartment. It's really cute and looks out at the duomo. And it's only 3 flights up, instead of the 4! We are earning our gelato every day!
We were starved. We found a great sandwich shop and enjoyed them and the sandwich makers. One if the guys had the craziest English/American/Australian accent. He was a pastry chef and ice cream maker!
We wandered around, drank some wine, wandered somemore, found a cool market and drank some beer...
We also purchased our pass to visit all the museum's here. Our brains will be overloaded pretty soon! Can't wait to get started!

  1. You make it to Mercado Centrale? It's close to you based on Anne's pic of the Duomo from your room.
